Do you know how you solve problems for your clients? Do you know who your center of influence is? If you’ve answered yes to all of those questions, congratulations! Now, let’s use answers to those questions to help you engage better here. It comes down to keywords. A question I often ask my...
2012, 2014, 2017
They were all good years. My daughter was born in 2012, I celebrated my 10 year anniversary in 2014, and in 2017 we moved from Buffalo, NY to Columbus, OH. That being said, a lot has changed since then. I’m sure I’m not the only one to endure change over the years. In business, things have changed...
I don’t post content on LinkedIn on Mondays anymore.
Posting content here on Mondays is like trying to stand out from the masses while swimming in a school of fish. It’s very difficult. From day one I’ve been of the mindset that you have to be different in order to stand out among the crowds here on this platform. What makes you different if you...
Is your LinkedIn profile optimized?
Are you showcasing your best self on this platform? Have you gone through each part of it and checked anddouble-checked that you're showing your best self? That's one part of the "LinkedIn triangle" that I help my clients with. I'm getting ready to ramp up discovery calls with potential clients...
You don’t have to be on LinkedIn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
You do have to be strategic with who you engage with when you post content AND when you check in with people here. The key is to use your time in the most productive way possible. This post was inspired by a post by my friend Joel Lalgee yesterday. Joel is amazing both on and off LinkedIn and if...
Consistency is everything…in life…in business…and in LinkedIn.
Without consistency, you are like a car who is accelerating and slamming on the brakes every few seconds. You don’t really go anywhere and you get whiplash. Be consistent and you will enjoy a much smoother ride. #business#linkedin#leverageup
Proof is in the pudding.
We all want to be visible to the right people on this platform, right? We all want to start conversations, right? Here are some comments by others here… “Why post on the weekend? Are people REALLY on LinkedIn on the weekend?” “I’m so sick of polls. Why do people post so many polls?” “Why post...
When I was working in sales I had to make cold calls.
It was hard. I knew I had to do it. Strangers answering the phone and telling me “no”, hanging up on me and every now and then I’d get a “sure, I’ll meet with you”. Thing is, if I had been doing what I was supposed to be doing on LinkedIn back then, I wouldn’t have had to make as many cold calls....
“Given you are a marketing leader I understand you are busy and appreciate your time.”
That’s how one of the latest messages started. Someone I know who is a Director of Marketing gets at least 5 of these messages either via DM or email a day. They are sent by people who obviously keyword search, don’t look at his profile, and blindly send…because none of the services have anything...
When you’re meeting new people…do you mention/point out what you do for a living?
I’ve been meeting a lot of new people at my kids’ activities lately - scouts, soccer, etc. etc. I chat with them but most of the conversation surrounds kids and our recent move to the area. I get a raising of eyebrows when I tell them the stories of selling our house before we found a house here....
